The Characters
- Pokemon (Pocket Monsters) Is about a boy named Ash Ketchum who is on
a journey to become a Pokemon master! It starts out when he is ten. He
starts his journey in Pallet Town (Kanto). His first Pokemon is the
famous and popular Pikachu! (an eletric mouse). Along his way he teams
up with two characters: Brock and Misty. Later on he travels with May,
Max, and Brock.
The Goal
- The object of Pokemon is to catch all of the Pokemon (493 Pokemon in
counting). To catch a Pokemon you must weaken it by using one of your
Pokemon. Using a pokeball (There are many types of Pokeballs) you can
catch the Pokemon. If you are a Pokemon Trainer you will try to earn as
many badges as you can to compete in a Pokemon tournament.
The Villians
- Of course there are villians known as Team rocket, Team magma, and
Team Aqua. The main villians are Team Rocket. Team rocket members that
are more main Team rocket characters are: Jesse, James, Meowth,
Wobbufett, Cassidy, Butch, Double 09 (Domino). But the totally main
characters for Team rocket are Jesse, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet a
few goffy type Rocket members who are always trying to catch Pikachu
for their boss Giovanni.
Where Did It Come From?
- Pokemon is based on two popular games: Pokemon Red and Blue created
by a Japanese Game Maker, Satoshi Tajiri. It took almost six years to
create his game. It is based on his childhood, he loved bugs! Most of
his Pokemon are based on bugs that he would watch as a child. Pokemon
first aired April 1st, 1997 in Japan After in the US September 7th,
1998.
